The Trump Administration has been trying to make its social media tools more integrated and have used social media as an “outreach tool” for the Department of Health and Human Services, but there’s still a long way to go.
The administration is now working to make more social tools “integrated” and the social media team, led by Director of Social Media and Communications Jennifer McBride, is working with the Department’s marketing team to figure out how to implement the social-media strategy, according to a memo obtained by Politico.
The memo says the goal is to “make social media more accessible and responsive to customers and consumers.”
McBride has been the White House’s social media director for the past several months.
It’s unclear how integrated the department is with the social network platforms.
In an interview last week, McBride said the administration was looking to create more tools for social media users to find out more about health and wellness, which is a key focus of the administration.
“This is not about integrating our platforms into each other, we are working to create a more unified platform,” McBride told Politico.
McBride said that a few weeks ago the White Houses social media strategy team discussed ways to integrate the WhiteHouse.gov social media with the HHS website and other social media platforms, but nothing has been done.
“I think that there is a lot of work ahead,” McWilliams said.
McBrides comments came after a report last week that the HHS Office of the Commissioner of Social & Behavioral Services was investigating the department’s efforts to make social media a better outreach tool.
The department is reportedly investigating how HHS can integrate social media into its website and how to integrate it into its social-account platforms.
McBrien said in an interview with Politico last week she was “looking at the best way to integrate social platforms with HHS websites and other websites to make them easier to use and better discover.”
She also said the WhiteHouses social media efforts will focus on making social media accessible and accessible to the American public.
McIrist said in the interview with the Politico report that “the focus” was on “how do we provide our services to people and not only what are our goals and what are the best practices and best practices of using our social media,” not “how can we integrate it.”
